Goot Dings! All the “Good Things” come to you!
Goot Dings is an eclectic mix of vintage from America and handicrafts from India. Every item has a little story, just to amuse you!
What the heck does “Goot Dings” mean? Well, the story goes, while brainstorming a name, nothing stuck until I stumbled upon an old postcard with a Dutch boy holding a pail. It read:
“Don’d look so solemn sad
Don’d look so blasted blue
be cheerful undt you’ll find
all de goot dings come to you.”
Charles Follen Adams, an early American poet wrote this verse as a take on Pennsylvania German dialect during the 19th century. “Goot dings” originally came from a series of ballads called “Yawcob Strauss”.
So the name stuck. After all, doesn’t everyone just want really good things?
